Sorority Row: Trailer

Set for release October 9, 2009 Sorority Row is about:

Sexy college juniors CASSIDY (Briana Evigan), JESSICA (Leah Pipes), CLAIRE (Jamie Chung), ELLIE (Rumer Willis) and MEGAN (Audrina Patridge) are sorority sisters sworn to trust, secrecy and solidarity, no matter what. But their loyalty is tested when a prank at a raucous house party goes terribly wrong and Megan ends up brutally murdered. Rather than confess to the crime and risk destroying their bright futures, the girls agree to hide the bloody corpse and keep their secret forever.

Fast forward one year to graduation. As they prepare to say goodbye to the house and each other, the girls plan one last alcohol-fueled bash on Sorority Row, confident their dark secret remains buried. But does it? As the party rages in the front yard, the bedrooms and the hot tub, the girls receive cell phone videos taken the night of Megan’s murder from an anonymous sender who threatens to forward the videos to the police. Then, one by one, the sisters and their unsuspecting boyfriends are stalked by an unseen killer.

Has Megan returned from the dead to exact her revenge? Or was their secret discovered by someone else someone now determined to make them pay? Trapped, the girls race to figure out which of them let their secret slip, who wants them dead, and how to fight back as the bodies pile up and their beloved sorority house explodes into flames. A heart-stopping climax reveals the killer’s shocking identity in this suspenseful, hip and sexy remake of the 1983 classic horror thriller.

Saw 6….Amanda’s Back

The Saw franchise is back…Though everyone knew the fifth installment wouldn’t be the end of it…So just as everyone expected Twisted Pictures has called upon Mark Burg to bring us yet another installment of the saw film series, Saw 6.

Though they never managed to find a creative way to bring back Jigsaw, the minds at Twisted Pictures have brought about the return of Amanda. Amanda was Jigsaw’s egar suicidal apprentice  who assisted the elder mass murderer with in his twisted games. The writers behind Saw supposedly killed Amanda when she failed to realize that she wouldn’t go untested and didn’t follow the rules of the game. Now the reason I am somewhat skeptical to say her character is dead is because this is not some short-lived low budget film franchise, this is Saw and if Amanda really is set to return in the 6th installment then I’d be willing to bet that she was never killed from the start. Maybe even one of Jigsaw’s plan from beyond the crypt.

Shooting  for the 6th installment will begin March 30 and  is set for release on October 23. Set to direct is Kevin Gerutert and set to star Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith and new actress and winner of Screaming Queens Tanedra Howard.

Writer Sam Raimi has hit the street and begun to spread the word, Spider Man 4 is a go. In recent interviews Raimi stated:

He and the production team are “in the earliest stages of working with the writer, trying to work out a story.” He added that they are just working an the fourth installment and not also a fifth film. Previous reports had claimed that Sony Pictures would be making the fourth and fifth movies at the same time, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Rumored to play Spider Man’s foe in the fourth installment of the series is Lizard, formally Dr. Curtis Conners:

A  gifted surgeon who enlisted in the army and was sent off to war. He performed emergency battlefield surgery on wounded GIs, but his right arm was injured in a blast and had to be amputated. After his return to civilian life as a research technologist, he became obsessed with uncovering the secrets of reptilian limb regeneration and studied reptilian biology extensively. From his home in the Florida Everglades, he finally developed an experimental serum taken from reptilian DNA. He successfully regrew the missing limb of a rabbit and then, despite the warnings of his wife Martha, chose to test it on himself. Connors ingested the formula and his missing arm did indeed grow back. The formula had a side effect; Connors was subsequently transformed into a reptilian humanoid monster. Spider-Man discovered this situation during a trip to Florida to investigate newspaper reports of the Lizard. Spidey was then able to use Connors’ notes to create an antidote to restore him to his human form and mentality.

Harlan Ellison, a prolific writer who is know for his many astonishing  literary and television works mostly known for his work in the Star Trek series has attributed to his much achieved success. As of late he has been gaining a new found popularity in the  court room. Ellison sued Star Trek for creating alternate works based on his epic script The City on The Edge of Forever, undoubtedly the most acclaimed episode throughout the entire series.

According to Hardcore Nerdity:

Author and aging enfant terrible Harlan Ellison issued a typically amusing press release detailing a lawsuit he’s launched against Paramount regarding use of intellectual property deriving from his 1966 Star Trek script “The City on The Edge Of Forever”. Specifically a trilogy of Trek novels that use multiple elements of “City” as a springboard.

This is not the first time Ellison has film a lawsuit against a production studio, having sued Paramount as well as Warner Bros. before for various form of plagiarism. Honestly you can’t blame the guy, he should be entitled to portions of the revenue gained from his work. Despite minor personality problems he still has the accreditation for his work and should rightfully get rewarded for his efforts.

It just comes to show that the movie industry isn’t as glamorous as it has been deemed to be.  There are people out there that will try to screw you in so many ways it gets ridiculous….In the Wizzard’z opinion, Ellison has every right and reason to sue every time the break copyright laws. If no one takes a stand, then everyone loses out.
