The Green Lantern follows the story of Hal Gordan:

A test pilot for Ferris Aircraft, Hal was known as the best (and most expensive) test pilots on the roster. He’s also romancing Carol Ferris, the beautiful daughter of his employer, Carl Ferris, whom he’s known since childhood.

One day, an alien, the Green Lantern Abin Sur, crash landed on Earth. As he laid there dying, he used his ring to find a human who was utterly honest and was without fear. The ring chose Hal, and he became the first human to be a member of the Green Lantern Corps. Over the years, he came to blows with many villians, especially his arch rival and former teacher, Sinestro. He also served as a founding member of the Justice League of America. During his tenture as a superhero, he becomes closed friends with Barry Allen, the second Flash, Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, and Dinah Lance, the second Black Canary and daughter of the original.
