New Avatar Trailer

avatar-movie-poster

Check out the trailer for the upcoming Avatar, hitting theaters December 16, 2009.

I think Director James Cameron will redefine the definition of CG effects with this one. Even though its just a trailer I really felt like i was looking at a completely different world, every detail crystal clear, the shadowing and air movement in the characters, and the cool eerie feeling when ever watching something about the future. And think if the trailer was mind blowing imagine how the movie will be. But never fear Avatar hit theaters this Friday. Be sure to check it out the jaw dropping performances from actors Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver. This one looks to be worth the price of admissions.

Director Brian Baugh has teamed up Writer Jim Britts to give the world To Save a Life, the story of a high school athlete who’s life faces a dramatic change when the suicide of a childhood friend opened his eyes to the realization that the pains of popularity that rules the high schools social rankings are no longer worth the price of admission.

Check out the trailer:

I’m not gonna lie this one took me by surprise, but i can truly appreciate the concept.  I had a friend in high school who was the weird, outcast, suicidal type and of course i had to be his o-n-l-y. He was the double jointed always stretching type and everyone thought he was gonna blow up the school or something. Go figure. One day he just stopped coming to school and was never heard from again, no surprise there huh? But back to the saving lives, young and rising actors Sean Michael (Akeelah and the Bee), Arjay Smith (The Day After Tomorrow) and Randy Wayne (The Haunting of Molly Hartley) star in this emotional adaptation. Showing that no matter how out their someone is a life is a life all the same.

Wiz Reviewz: Up

Ever since I was a young child Pixar has made a lasting impression with each of their animated masterpieces, so its no surprise that UP exceeded the award winning standards that Pixar’s delivered film and film again.

This time around Pixar not only managed to take the audience on a ride full of emotion, humor and visual amazement, they did it in 3-D. Equip with a ticket stub and a pair of 3-D glasses both adult and child alike experienced the wonders of the South American terrain, the heartache in an old mans tale, the innocence of a child’s ambition, the predictable mind of a dog and the excitement of an epic adventure.

pixar-up

The adventure begins with the life of  Carl Fredricksen, a 78 year young man with a heart thriving full of adventure. Along with his childhood companion turned wife Ellie they devoted their life of happiness to finding their South American  promise land Paradise Falls. But soon the burdens of life began to bear down the two lovers with adventure pumping through their veins. The days grew shorter and time moved faster and before they knew it a life time had passed them by, old age set in and Carl was forced to live out his days alone with only the lasting memory of Ellie  and her unfilled scrap book dedicated to adventure, their colorful home and the need to pursuit ones childhood dream during their final years.

Carl’s adventure first begins in his later years, after being anchored by the burdens of life Carl is living the rest of his days in the slow lane unwilling to adjust to the fast pace of the common era. Faced with the difficult decision of giving into the new generations expectations or living the dreams they he once shared with the love of his life, Carl transforms his house into a air ship with its primary lift supplied by a colossal number of balloons and sets off to find Paradise Falls. Rendered with eye popping 3-D effects the home turned air ship drifted across the screen as the audience watched with amazement, hands down this was some of the best animation work that I’ve ever experienced.

Anyway with his sails set and balloons filled Carl sails the skies overwhelmed with joy as he lives his dream. And as we all know life always seems to find a way to slow you down and in Carl’s case his road block came in the form of a young Wilderness Explorer scout named Russell. Accompanied by child thriving to reach his dream Carl reaches the South American  terrain. With only a few days of helium left in the balloons,  Carl and Russell come face to face with the deadly force of denounced adventurer Charles Muntz, Carl’s childhood hero, in search of the mystical creature that ruined his career. Determine to regain the welfare of his name Muntz and his well trained attack dogs search the South American jungle in search of the creature that finds the protection and love of a young child and the tough love of a bitter old man.

Now adults especially you parents,  you have to admit…Pixar looked out on this one. They made the movie just as entertaining for the adults in the audience, so those of you who only went to sent the movie because your child wouldn’t leave you alone about it this is the one time when you can’t complain. I’m 19 years old and I probably enjoyed it more than the kids did. The story of how the old man who lost the love of his life and grew cold hearted was taught how to care again by the innocence of a child kept the adults in the audience glued to the screen while the story of a young boy who goes on a great adventure and the humor of a dogs mind keep mixed with in with 3-D effects kept the kids entertained.

Overall UP was a excellent movie and honestly I couldn’t find any flaws. I only have good things to say about this movie, so for those of your out there who haven’t seen it….it’s definitely worth the price of admission.

Wiz Reviewz: Role Models

Instant classic…..Hands down, Role Models has to be the funniest movies I’ve seen so far this year.

role_models_movie_poster

Where should I start?…First, McLovin killed it…I gotta hand it to him, the guys just funny. In the movie Christopher Mintz-Plasse plays a nerdy teen outcast by his peers because he is obsessed with the medieval world called  Lair, named Augie Farks. Picture McLovin, but less concerned with  his social life. Anyway, he walks around with a cape and a plastic sword…no wonder his guidance counselor placed him in the mentoring program and trust me his mentor doesn’t have a clue what he’s getting into. But he’s not the only over the edge mentee in the program, let me introduce the hell raising Ronnie Shields, the youngest child in the mentoring program but don’t let his size fool you he’s got the mouth of a sailor and the balls to back it up. Bobb’e J. Thompson really out did himself this time, I’m sure he had one hell of a time with all the cussing they let him do.

Danny Donachue, played by Paul Rudd, and Wheeler, played by Sean Wiliam Scott, get into legal trouble and have the choice of doing community service at Sturdy Wings mentoring program or spend 30 days in jail. It’s obvious which choice they pick but it wasn’t without great thought after meeting their new mentee’s referred to as “Littles”. As if having to deal with a teen dressed in midevil battle gear and a swearing toddler as you Littles, Sturdy Wing’s Program Director Gayle Sweeny, played by Jane Lynch. Similar to her work in The 40 Year Old Virgin, the uptight power crazy bitch in the management position. Just to give you a taste of her brilliance her a quote from the movie:

Me and the judge have a special relationship… I don’t wanna get too graphic but I sucked his dick for drugs.

Would I recommend you see this movie? Hell Yes..it’s definately worth it.

For those who are anticipating the release of Tom Hank’s Angle ans Demons and anyone who is a fan of The Da Vinci Code, get ready because the fun just wont stop. This time around Robert Langdon will be unraveling secrets in The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. The book is set to hit stores September 15 in the U.S. and Canada.

robeert-langdon

Seeing how Sony owns the right to the chracter Robert Langton, it would be to no ones suprise if the novel became the basis for a third film. Which will most undoubtly be another chase to find anwsers  pasts all the dead ends and thousands of years of lies and secrects. Sounds exciting

As a child I was told that i was a HUGH Ninja Turtles fan…I even have memories of a Ninja Turtle bed spread…So no matter how much I tried to fight it, when I heard word of a 5th installment I couldn’t hold in my excitement.

tmnt1

This time around they plan to focus on the origins of the shelled crime fighters. Don’t know how much more they can tell. It’s not like it’s a big mystery, four turtles fell into some radio active waste and got mutant powers…Sounds like it’d make one hell of a movie.lol. With a 20011 release date it looks like we’ll have to wait to find out.

Knowing w/ Trailer

knowing_poster5

This past weekend Knowing starring Nicholas Cage swept the box office this weekend earning an approximate $24.8 million. Taking second is the comedy I Love You Man starring Paul Judd and Jason Segal making an approximate 18 million. 3rd was Duplicity starring  coming up with 14.4 million followed by Race to Witch Mountain starring Dwayne Johnson. And lastly bringing up the rear was Watchmen bringing in $6.5 million gaining an approximate 98 million to date.

Freddy Krueger is set to hit the screen, yet again. When will they learn that we are tired of seeing the same character’s in every horror movie. Not just Freddy but Jason and Myers too. I’m sure if someone made another character people would go watch it because it’s something new. In Wizzard’z World we are all about originality, to keep remaking the same film without significantly changing the plot show a lack of creativity and laziness.

Set to release April 16,2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street doesn’t look  to be any different, as determined form a brief synopsis provided by IMDB:

A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.
