The plot for the upcoming Captain America movie, The First Avenger: Captain America, has been released and they’ve decided to take it back to the 1940’s. The film will cover the origins of Captain America which dates back to the second World War, as solider Steve Rodgers turns super solider in a experiment thus depicting the creation of Captain America.

Here’s a short synopsis of the next Marvel Comic turned movie, The First Avenger: Captain America, provided by Production Weekly:
“Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the “Super-Soldier Serum” and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and leader of the Avengers.”
This film is set to release May 6, 2011 and seeing how this one hasn’t claimed a director yet, they might wanna get a move on it. I’m sure that no one wants Marvel’s first Captain America movie of this millennium to be like anything close to atrocity known as Superman Returns, luckily Batman stepped in to save Superman’s slandered name and keep D.C. in the game. I mean you should at least give the guy a change to get established again because the average day person isn’t likely to know much about Captain America. There’s a lot of pressure riding upon this, with the gained success of Iron Man and The Hulk, Captain America has high expectations to meet.

I wanna start by saying that i’m a huge Pixar fan, it just seems like they never go wrong. Especially with their latest project directed by Pete Doctor UP, set to release May 29,2009. Below is a short synopsis and trailer.

Though I hate openly admitting this I’m kind of a Harry Potter fan. It’s hard to resist when it’s everywhere you look. But….it’s getting old. You can’t keep adding pieces to the same story, sometime you just have to let it go and start something new… I can’t really say it will be a disappointment in the box office because of its strong fan base..

I check out the trailer for the 6th Harry Potter movie: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Doesn’t look like it’s gonna be bad but i couldn’t really give it a fair chance because I’m getting tired of a world full of Harry Potter. That being so here’s the trailer:

Here’s a short synopsis of the upcoming movie Public enemies staring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale:
“In the action-thriller Public Enemies, acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the incredible and true story of legendary Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger (Depp)the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoovers fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard) to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression. But while the adventures of Dillinger’s gang later including the sociopathic Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham)thrilled many, Hoover (Billy Crudup) hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw’s capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America’s first Public Enemy Number One. Hoover sent in Purvis, the dashing “Clark Gable of the FBI”. However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis’ men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) who were real gunfighters and orchestrating epic betrayals from the infamous “Lady in Red” to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nittiwere Purvis and the FBI able to close in on Dillinger.”

Now i know that we all thought that they would never make another Terminator film but they are and get this he’s still in it. Yea, the 61 year old governor will dress up yet again at hit the screen as the terminator for the 4th time in Terminator Salvation. Where does he find the time??? Lol. Well at least there interesting to watch. I suppose he’s no different than Sylvester Stallone in his Rocky and Rambo movies. Sometime you have to wonder when enough is enough. I for one don’t want to keep seeing action movies with actors that are a good fall away from having to have a walker. Lol, jk. I’m sure they both have a couple good action films left in them, just as I’m sure this next installment in Terminator will be a great film, i hope. With Christian Bale set to play John Connor I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

Terminator Salvation is set to hit theaters May 21 2009. Click here to watch trailer.

I just wanna say, I’m tired of seeing remakes of the Jason, Freddy, and Myers horror films. Everyone of the million remakes is nothing more than a exact replica of the the one before, no originality. So to Friday the 13th…I honesty don’t remember half of the movie, yea it was just that boring. I’m not even sure I made it through the movie. But i can tell you Jason fanatics that they stuck to the storyline. The actors did a good job serving their purpose but none gave a standout performance. Overall, this is a very bad horror film and deserves a 5 out of 10.

I heard all the hype about Taken, so i had to check it out. And honestly…it was pretty good. I have to give it two thumbs up. Liam Neeson delivered a stunning performance, as a former spy who has to save his daughter from forced prostitution on her trip to Paris. Great acting, great plot and storyline. Here’s a short synopsis of the film for your reading pleasure provided by IMDB.

The seventeen year-old Kim is the pride and joy of her father, the retired agent Bryan Mills that left the secret service to stay near Kim in California. Kim lives with her mother Lenore and her wealthy stepfather Stuart; she convinces the reluctant Bryan to sign an authorization to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. When they arrive, they share a cab with the stranger Peter and Amanda tells to him that they are alone in Paris. When Bryan succeeds in contacting his daughter, she tells that criminals have just break in the spot and they are kidnapped by an Albanese gang of human trafficking. Bryan promises in the phone to kill the kidnapper of his daughter and immediately travels to Paris to find Kim and chase the criminals.
I would definitely recommend this movie, whether or not you like thrillers. This one is one for the collection.

The infamous Gore Verbinski is in the final stages of negation to direct the second version of the mystery board game Clue. I’ve heard the 1985 version of the movie was less than desirable, that being so the Pirates of the Caribbean director should have his work cut out for him. Personally I’m not a fan of the game and probably wouldn’t go see a movie based on it.

Gore Verbinski Kevin Lima Ridley Scott
But Clue isn’t the only board game going to the big screen. Candyland (set to be directed by Kevin Lima) and Monopoly ( Ridley Scott is set to produce) are also set to appear as movies. I’m not exactly sure how Monolpoy could be made into a movie, but along side with Candyland it’d probably be something that i’d atcually want to go see. To all the director and producers i wish you the best but you’ve got your work cut out for you.

I just got finished watching Push…… Not what I was expecting. I mean I have a fatal attraction to movies so I’ll watch just about anyone, but this one is pushing it… The plot takes a while to develop and characters pop up all over the place. Honestly it reminded me of Jumper, some superhuman race is being hunted by some super secret agency. I found myself drifting in and out of conscientious during this movie. But all is not lost; the actors make the film actually worthwhile and bearable.

Djimon Hounsou, Dakota Fanning, the always sexy Ming-Na, and Chris Evans all gave outstanding performances. It just goes to show that a good movie needs both a good plot as well as a good cast. Don’t get me wrong the film was decent but that’s it decent. So if you have nothing else to do with one of your evenings, why not watch it. It’d probably be a good waste of time. That being so i gotta give this one a 7.5/10. Below is a short summary provided by IMDB.
A group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities are hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency. They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

Ok, I just watched the third installment of the Underworld movie series and i must say…..not bad lol. Great plot, acting and special effects. I am a big fan of prequels if done right and I must say Underworld: Rise of the Lycans was done RIGHT!

I don’t want to give too much away but this installment focuses on the relationship of Lucian(Michael Sheen) who served as Viktor’s lycan servant in the first of the Underworld series and Sonja, Viktor’s daughter. They are forced to hide their love for obvious reasons, one being lycan and the other a vampire. It’s a remix of Romeo and Juliet with a Dracula type twist. Anywayz…I would recommend going to see this movie or getting it on bootleg, whichever you chooze. Here is a short synopsis provided by IMDB.
The prequel story traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor, the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja, in his battle against the Vampire army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.
