The air is fresh, the trees are green and Dakota Fanning will star in the Wizard of Oz remake. It just seems to role off the tongue, Dakota Fanning taking a trip to Oz, roaming around munchkin land and what not.

The sequel to the timeless classic will be the works of Todd McFarlane, in cahoots with Warner Bros. they plan to bring Oz to the present day and time. It’ll be interesting to see who they choose to fill the rest of the cast. Maybe Kanye West would make a good tin man, he’s heartless anyway…..lolĀ sorry I couldn’t help myself…. But on a more serious note, this time around their will be no random combustion of song and music. Yup… someone finally wised up and left the musicals with Disney, in the up-to-date remake/sequel they’ve decided to focus more on the plot rather than the tunes that only waste time from actor that have no kind of vocal range what so ever.
Be sure to check back as more info is released.

Wow…Whatever those guys involved in Tron 2’s pre-production are smoking must be some serious shit…They have to be sky high…From experience I can tell you that when your sky high you think of stupid shit like making a sequel with a $300 million budget with the original only costing $17 million…

Check out the statement from Vancouver Sun about Tron 2 ’s pre-production budget:
Vancouver post-production units are salivating at the prospects presented by the Disney remake of Tron, which carries a whopping $300 million budget and opportunities aplenty for effects and digital polish. The 1982 version of the film starring Jeff Bridges blazed new trails in computer graphics and you can bet Tron 2.0 will push much further down the pixel path.
Garrett Hedlund (Eragon, Troy) and Olivia Wilde (House, The OC) have been cast in lead roles. Bridges is also reportedly appearing in the new film along with original Tron alumnus Bruce Boxleitner. Disney has set up offices in town and shooting should get underway this spring.
With a 300 million dollar budget, this better be the best movie ever… With today’s technology, $300 million should buy the worlds bestĀ CG effects so there will be know excuse if it drops…More to come
